Ramifications

Speciality medical care

The countries of Central Eastern Europe are in dire need of high-quality, cost-effective healthcare services. MIC& Associates would therefore like to establish high-caliber hospitals in the region. These will be run by teams of physicians and employees not only committed to excellent patient care, but also multi-lingual and sensitive to the different cultural needs of both local and international patients.

These hospitals will offer leading edge patient care in the following medical specialties and subspecialties:

  • Otolaryngology: This will include the treatment of ear, nose, throat and neck disorders. Artificial hearing programs use implantable hearing aids and cochlear implants. Cutting-edge technology will enable physicians to provide the best service in treating Head and Neck skull base surgery, micro vascular and minimally invasive endoscopic surgery, voice disorders and BAHA.
  • Trauma Care: Trauma care provides comprehensive emergency treatment to patients suffering from life threatening traumatic injuries sustained in motor vehicle accidents, falls and assaults. These injuries usually require multidisciplinary and complex treatment, including surgery, to give the patients the best possible survival and recovery chance. Injuries may require orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, abdominal surgery, plastic surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, critical care, emergency medicine or all of the above.
  • Burn Unit: The Burn unit is a progressive program offering burn patients emergency treatment, intensive care, rehabilitation and out-patient follow-up care. All types of burns including chemical, scald, thermal and electrical burns are treated. Treatment is designed to offer patients maximum healing opportunities and includes physicians and staff specialized in plastic surgery, physical therapy, occupation therapy, speech, psychiatry and nutrition.
  • Cardiology: Cardiac patients will receive life-saving care from heart specialists using sophisticated diagnostic technology and procedures including:
    • New state-of-the-art electrophysiology and catheterization laboratories, minimally invasive cardiac surgical procedures (using HD da Vinci surgical system), percutaneous aortic valve replacement, and Cardiac stem cell therapy trials using a patient’s own stem cells to repair the heart.
    • Sophisticated cardiac diagnostic imaging; Odyssey HD Monitoring in Hybrid Surgical Suite designed to combine minimally invasive percutaneous cardiology and vascular interventions with cardiovascular surgical procedures; and prevention programs such as Heartaware Assessment
  • Ophthalmology: Advanced treatment for Cataracts, Corneal diseases, Glaucoma, intraocular tumors, LASIK, Macular degeneration, Neurophthalmology, Ocular immunology and oncology, Pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus will be offered.
  • Neurology: The whole range of neurological diseases, including Stroke/Cerebrovascular Diseases, Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease & Movement Disorders, will be treated. The hospital will have laboratories with the capability of performing 24-hour EEG/Video service monitoring for these diseases as well as for brain tumors, brain injury, liver or kidney disease and brain death. Treatment will be provided using CT Scanners, Magnetic Resonance Imagining, EEG, evoked potentials, nerve conduction studies and electromyography.
  • Oncology : Comprehensive treatment for cancer patients will be provided. A highly skilled staff and state-of-the-art-technology will provide patients with an individualized treatment program that meets the utmost level of quality care. Treatment options will include: Surgery, Chemotherapy, Combined Therapy (Chemo/Radiation/Surgery), External Beam, High and Low Dose Rate Brachytherapy. All cancer patients or potential candidates for radiation can be treated with the Linear Accelerator which delivers the most precise beam and accurate dose of radiation, killing the cancerous cells while minimizing the amount of radiation given to surrounding tissues. Pelvic and gynecological malignancies, gastric cancer, head/neck, brain, bone, breast and lung cancer benefit from this treatment.
  • Robotic/Laparoscopic Surgery: The hospital will offer groundbreaking Robotic surgery, a highly-innovative and minimally-invasive alternative to laparoscopic surgery. Physicians will use the da Vinci Surgical System, the latest technology in performing urologic cancer and reconstruction surgeries (such as radical prostatectomy, cystectomy, partial nephrectomy, and pyeloplasty) as well as gynecological procedures (radical hysterectomy, fibroid removal, vaginal prolapse repair and gynecological oncology). For the surgeon, a primary benefit of the robot is the remarkably clear view of the surgical site. In addition, the da Vinci System requires an extremely small incision to perform the most intricate of surgeries. Procedures performed with the robot also have the benefit of short hospital stays, decreased pain, lower infection rates, and reduced blood loss.
  • Organ Transplant: This will include Liver, Kidney, Pancreas, Intestine, Multi-visceral, Bone marrow and Pediatric heart & multi organs transplants.
