As a follow up to the creation of an American Hospital in Romania, Stefan Minovici met on Friday May 29 with H.E. Sorina Pintea, the Romanian health minister. Mrs. Pintea, originally from Baia Mare, is by training an accomplished economist with a significant experience in hospital management. She managed the Pneumology Department at Baia Mare Hospital between 2009-2013 and served as a management consultant at S.C. Sov Consulting, between 2007-2009. Minister Pintea was also an advisor for European integration during 2003-2005.
Attended by MIC & RABC members, the discussion focused on location possibilities for the hospital, the current Romanian legislation regarding healthcare and investor repatriation of profits.
Minister Pitea agreed to co-sponsor a Romania Healthcare Forum in New York that will bring together some of the most renowned US hospital including Johns Hopkins, Cornel Medical, Mt. Sinai, Northwell Health Langone Medical. The event is planned for the middle of November 2018.
