Fundraiser in Honor of Congressman Michael Turner

A fundraiser in honor of Congressman Michael Turner (R- Ohio) was held on Thursday, December 4th, during the annual Holiday Party at the offices of MIC & Associates in New York.
Congressman Turner became a member of the House Armed Services Committee at the beginning of the 111th Congress and was named the Ranking Member on the Strategic Forces Subcommittee. The Strategic Forces Subcommittee has jurisdiction over the nation’s nuclear arsenal, the US military assets in outer space, the Department of Defense’s intelligence programs, and also over missile defense systems. Reelected to a fifth term in November of 2010, Congressman Turner served as Chairman of the House Armed Services Strategic Forces Subcommittee, and as a Member of the Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee for the 112th Congress.
Congressman Turner, who co-chairs the Romania Caucus in the United Sates Congress together with Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (D- California), was warmly greeted by leaders of the Romanian-American Community, including the Chairman of the Romanian American Chamber of Commerce, Mark Mayer, MTA President Michael Horodniceanu and the President of MIC & Associates, Stefan Minovici. Among the guests were also Wall Street executives, physicians, artists and academics.
Mr. Turner thanked the audience for the continuous support offered for his efforts in Congress and for the genuine interest in the strong relationship between the United States and Romania. Congressman Turner talked about the situation in Ukraine and Crimea, about the bilateral relationship between the two countries and about the current status of immigration policies in the United States. Honorable Mike Turner also agreed to be the guest of honor at the Romania Day Festival in May, 2015.
