Last September, at the residence of the Romanian ambassador to Washington, DC, Mr. Sorin Ducaru, Stefan Minovici, President of MIC & Associates met with Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld on the occasion of the appointment of the new US ambassador to Romania, Mr. James D. Crouch II.
During this meeting, Mr. Minovici discussed current events tied to the ongoing conflict in Iraq and the role played by NATO’s newest member, Romania, in strengthening the Alliance in Central Eastern Europe.
Secretary Rumsfeld expressed his gratitude for the role played by Romania after 9/11 and the contribution made by the Romanian armed forces in the fight against terrorism and dictatorship in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The Romanian ambassador Sorin Ducaru was honored by the visit of Secretary Rumsfeld just before his departure to Istanbul for the NATO Summit and vowed to continue his Government’s efforts to defend the interest of all European nations and the United States against terror and political instability
